Received call/voicemail fro someone stating they were with the department of Social Security. When I returned the voice mail call I was given an employee's ID number of 70019 and a case number of 6063 and was told that my social security number is listing illegal claims and they are telling me they are going to be threatening legal proceedings against me. I tried to get more information from them but was not able. They began asking me the following questions; My first and last name, my birth date, and then went on to ask me for my social security number. Obviously at that point I knew it was some type of a scam because the SS office never asked for your social security number and as soon as I relayed that to them and that I would be contacting the Social Security Department about their fraudulent calls at that point I was hung up on. I called back the number that was on my phone and the same person answered and I proceeded to ask who this company was and this person's name and he said he already spoke with me and was I ready to give him my social security number. I told him I needed to get his name and their company's name because they are calling requesting information about me and then whoever it was said that he was not feeling well so he would not be able to give me any of their business information, I laughed and again told them I was going to inform the SS Department of this call. At that point I asked to speak with someone else since he seemed to be ill, I heard multiple people in the background kind of like a call center environment and I told him do not disconnect me just to get me to someone that would be able to help me and he told me it would be about 5 Seconds, then he counted to 5 and disconnected the call again. I called for one last time and my phone number was blocked and so I used my home phone number and the same person answered and once he realized it was me again he then disconnected the call for a third time. Sorry the story is long but I hope someone BUSTS this criminal activity.
