- I answered, woman said "Hi this is Claire with the "Hearing Department." When I asked what the company was, she said, "Is this [my real first name!]? I said "Yes" and she launched into a pitch, but I broke in and said "Excuse me, Claire, may I ask why you're calling me?" She said "You filled out one of our forms requesting we call you." [I am a bedridden cancer patient and did no such thing.] I said. "I'm sorry but that's not true. Claire, would you please remove me from your calling list?" Suddenly she nastily replied, "Well yeah you can *ASK* But!" And hung up right after she said the word "But", leaving it VERY clear they have zero intention of removing me. And the fact she used my legal first name is frightening. She refused to name the company in the greeting *and* when I asked the name outright. No legitimate business does that.
