Claimed interest in an item I had posted on CL., said he would offer an extra $50 and send me a check. But the check would have excess amount for movers who would be picking up the item I was selling.. As soon as he said that I got suspicious so I gave an address that wasn't mine for him to send the check to. Within two days of dealing with him he changed his number another red flag. After reading about a whole scam on CL where people send you a check for way more then what you asked for, taking the difference and then the check bounces leaving you owing the amount. I asked him how much the check was for so that I could make sure it didn't fall into the wrong hands he told me an amount 7 times what I originally asked and 4 Times what the item cost brand new on Amazon. I then told him to cancel the check and that I would be selling to somebody else, he then tried to back track saying it was a typo and meant to say that he wrote out the check for a different amount (still 2 times more then if it was brand new). At that point I called him out on the scam he was trying to pull, he stopped responding after that.
