(813) 201-0002 recorded 10 January 2018 (Alex with American Guard, then Ray With Home Security Solutions, Live screening for free wireless home alarm system) Caller ID: "Cell Phone FL"Live screening call with Alex of American Guard, qualifying me for a free wireless home security alarm. Then he put me through to Ray with Home Security Solutions to explain the free alarm with many features, and the $49.99 per month monitoring fee, with a contract to lock the customer in for 3 or 5 years.I asked Ray if he could send me a sample contract for the system but he said the installer would bring me a copy at installation time. What? Nothing ahead of time? How insulting to my intelligence!I will wait for them to call me back to see if I have more interest in their security system before I finally tell them I wouldn't do business with a firm who wants to install and activate their product with a long contract period before I can see the terms and conditions. In the meantime I'll just act interested to waste their time and prevent them from calling some other poor sucker who might not be as cautions as I am.Here is a transcript of their insulting, intrusive and unwanted screening and sales solicitation:[me:] "Hello?"[male voice 1:] "Hello, this is Alex with American Guard. How you doing today?" [me:] "Hello Alex. How are you doing?" [male voice 1:] "I'm doing great. I appreciate it. So we're working with the top home security companies out there. We're upgrading all the landline systems to fully wireless with no charge okay, you get the doors and windows covered, a medical pendant and even home automation right now. Burglars are cutting more phone lines than they ever have and again you pay nothing upfront. So I have an advisor on the line will get you everything you need, okay?" [me:] "Okay." [male voice 1:] "Just one more second." [boink][male voice 2:] "Hi, thank you so much for holding, my name is Ray with Home Security Solutions, and who do I have the pleasure of speaking with?" "[me:] "Uh, hello Ray, my name is Merle Pierce. How are you doing today? [male voice 2:] "Uh pretty good Merle, how are you doing sir?" [me:] "Just fine. We're finally thawing out here." [male voice 2:] "Heh heh heh, good. I'm glad to hear that Meryl. So uh Merle, I understand you are a home owner so you certainly would qualify. Do you have an alarm system in the home already?"[me:] "Just a big dog."[male voice 2:] "Oh, ok, so you don't have an alarm you have a pet. Okay."[me:] "Right."[male voice 2:] "Are you interested in learning more about our system, sir, our promotion?"[me:] "Well uh, the uh call that just came in said people are cutting phone lines in the area. What's all that about?"[male voice 2:] "Well criminals, that's what they're doing. They're cutting the landline systems uh by snapping you know the land itself. It's really easy to break into those systems now. So the industry is going to officially go wireless completely except for the remote areas around the country effective July 1st. We're just running a promotion to give people an opportunity get the system at no cost, no installation, nothing from the equipment. Just the monthly monitoring that keeps your system connected to your 911 services, yeah so..." [me:] "A frightening thought what people will do these days."[male voice 2:] "Oh, you'd be surprised, 15 or 16 year old kids for the last uh, heh heh, last uh report we got at one of our seminars, from [unintelligible] across the country got high school kids cutting the landlines with a box cutter and breaking into the hall so if your system connected to the internet or landline that's what they're doing. Uh now they have what's called a two way shell, it's got a Verizon or ATT SIM card inside the keypad so there's nothing you would have to get on your own, everything comes with our system." [me:] "Okay, I see."[male voice 2:] "I would do that for you. Now it does have it does have home automation so that means if you have a cell phone already depending on as long as it is a smartphone uh the technician downloads an app to your phone, and then gives you the ability to control the system from anywhere anytime, so if you did leave the home and you forgot to set the alarm you can set it from your smart phone and receive notification alerts too."[me:] "And I I'm just curious uh."[male voice 2:] "Sure."[me:] "Could I also control it from a laptop or a desktop computer or or is this app only for Android or a smartphone devices?" [male voice 2:] "Right, no, you certainly can. They actually give you your own login so you can login from an iPad even a smart TV if you're traveling you know if you're overseas or something like that or in an area where you don't have good cell signal you can certainly log on from one of those devices as well."[me:] "And a a personal computer and a Windows computer?"[male voice 2:] "Yes. Yeah desktop or laptop computer as well. Yep."[me:] "Okay."[male voice 2:] "Yep. You can add 6 type of different devices to the account at no additional cost."[me:] "Okay."[male voice 2:] "Uh hmm yes sir. Yeah, so the system comes with your wireless key pad the technicians will put the wireless sensors in your doors, uh you mentioned you have a dog so they would not put motion detectors for your windows otherwise he would trigger that so they'll use glass break sensors, and then it comes with smoke heat and freeze thermal sensor as well and wireless light bulbs. These bulbs you could put it outside the home inside in any light fixture you can turn those on from your smart phone as well. Yeah, then the monthly monitoring rate Merle will be $49.99 per month. That's what keeps the service connected and it is price protected. You know you have the option of going with a 3 year contract for a 5 year contract. It comes with a warranty as well."[me:] "I see."[male voice 2:] "Yep and that's that's what you would pay the technician. That would activate your account, covers your first month of service and they do provide you a certificate for your home owners insurance company that you would forward to them and they reward you they give you a discount of about 10 to 20% on your renewal every year uh hmm."[me:] "Could you email me a sample contract for the system?" [male voice 2:] "I'll do better, I'll give you the uh website for the company so you can check us out completely. We don't e-mail contracts, we don't have them, the technician brings them all out to ya, ah but they do give you a copy and they also e-mail it to you while they're there everything's done on iPad so uh but I can give you the website if you'd like Merle, so you can check everything out. We are in your area 'til Saturday you know so you can always call us. The website is my moni that's em as in Michael, why as in yellow, moni, em as in Michael, Oh en eye. It's Moni Smart Security, but they abbreviate it for the customers so you can you know, read about us, our reviews, our ratings, and on the equipment, the equipment, you'll be able to see now alarm.com is another web site I'd to give ya, that a lot of information, that's the that's where the technicians download the app from and that that pretty much allows you to see the various things you'd be able to do from your wireless devices. It's pretty cool."[me:] "Okay you broke up. The first my moni was em like Mary, why like Yankee, and then moni." [male voice 2:] "Yes em oh en eye."[me:] "Then Alarm dot com, yeah I got the rest."[male voice 2:] "Yeah alarm dot com will give it to you. That's the home automation stuff there uh hmm."[me:] "Yeah, I I can check those out. Uh I was just doing something on my computer, but I will finish up about 10 minutes, and I'd like to go visit those two sites. [male voice 2:] "Absolutely. Sounds good Merle. There'll be a phone number there. Just ask the Promotions Department, okay?" [me:] "Okay."[male voice 2:] "Yeah, there'll be an 855 number on the website, you'll see it." [me:] "And is it any benefit to you if I mention your name, do you get credit since you made the first call to me?" [male voice 2:] "Yeah, no, I appreciate you asking that. No, I don't, I just pre...I pretty much what I do is I explain the offer and I schedule everything, uh but we're not paid on commission, sir."[me:] "Alright well in just a little while from now I will definitely go visit those two sites." [male voice 2:] "Sure, not a problem sir. Yeah, we look forward to hearing back from you. Hopefully heh heh heh."[me:] "Okay. Well, thank you for the call and the information. Happy New Year, and I hope it's warmer where you are than where I am."[male voice 2:] "Heh heh heh, yes it is, I appreciate the kind words sir. Thank you, and you as well." [me:] "Have a good day." [male voice 2:] "Thanks again, now. Okay. Bye bye." [me:] "Goodbye." * * * * * * * * * *Thanks to Google Voice ( www.google.com/voice ) you can hear this recording on my Spam Calls web page: donotanswer.000webhostapp.com Signup for your own free Google Voice account at www.google.com/voice and avoid telephone call spam
