- This number calls several times a day. I finally got fed up and answered it this morning. The guy claimed to be from some sort of higher education/retraining program and was asking me a lot of "yes" or "no" questions. I have heard about the scammers that record you saying "yes" and then use that recording to hack into your accounts so I was very careful not to say "yes". I was trying to tell him that I wasn't interested and to stop calling me and he through out one last question, "But, you are a US resident, right?" And, I slipped. I said, "yes, but I'm not interested". I didn't get the entire sentence out as the call disconnected immediately after "yes". That's what I get for answering the phone.
