House phone rings, I answer. An automated message say it’s PSEG – the guy (Middle Eastern or Indian) says, “Sorry…can’t do that.” And then hangs up. At this point I know it’s a scam so I call back and then get a different recording. It now says because of a website I’ve recently visited I’m eligible to win a $100 gift car if I press a number. So again, I press the number and I told the guy I knew it was a scam I reported it to the police (which I didn’t at that point), and to REMOVE MY NUMBER!!! I hang up and then this guy has the nerve to call my home phone back! I answer and said yes? And he said, “Yes…. You said you called the police *laughter* I’d like to see what they’re going to do.” That’s when I lost it. I’m a Jersey girl – we don’t take too nicely to threats so I lost it a bit and told him what I thought of him and where I thought he should go. Unfortunately, the number is not “listed” according to the do not call registry when I tried filing a complaint. SO my co-worker’s husband works for the state police and I called him and he’s going to trace the number for me. Hopefully this will be one less idiot calling.
